Michael Robinson has been a musician for over 60 years. Training as a Percussionist playing Drums, Timpani and Xylophone, he has performed in the Royal Australian Navy Band for twenty years and countless local bands during his career. Michael has over two decades of tutoring experience, having taught percussion at the Royal Australian Navy School of Music in Victoria, as well as Kolbe Catholic College, Rockingham, Warnbro, and Safety Bay Senior High Schools. Since his retirement from the Western Australian Education Department, Michael has continued to perform live with several local bands. As one of Mammoth’s most experienced instructors, Michael Robinson’s vast knowledge of percussion and all music is of great benefit to all of his students.

Rachel studied music through Trinity College London and has a diploma with the Modern School of Music New Zealand. She has been teaching piano and guitar for over 25 years and endeavours to give a well-rounded musical education by incorporating classical, theory, scales and modern methods. Always aiming to motivate her students she seeks to find their listening/playing preferences and weaves these into her lessons. Under the name ‘Freo Busker’, Rachel has been busking around WA (mainly in Fremantle) for the past 14 years whilst releasing two cds.

Michael Slitenbachs is a 20 year old multi-instrumentalist who has been playing guitar for over a decade. After graduating Kolbe Catholic College as the school’s music captain, he attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and achieved a Diploma of Contemporary Music, and an Advanced Diploma of Music Industry with a VET Specialisation in Performance. He’s been immersed in the WA music scene in numerous projects, gigging frequently and receiving heavy airplay on local radio stations with neo-soul band Creatures of Habit, and alternative rock quartet Last Lions. With half a decade of tutoring experience under his belt already, we are very pleased to welcome Michael to the Mammoth Academy of Music.

Iain is an accomplished classical guitarist, and has considerable performance experience with bands and as a solo artist, spanning multiple genres. Iain is dedicated to providing a solid musical foundation to players of all ages and abilities.
Iain has a Certificate IV & III in Music Performance, has coached advanced players who have successfully completed Classical Guitar examinations, as well as contemporary exams, and has arranged performances for Guitar Ensembles as well as Rock Band performance nights. Iain has written and arranged scores and literature and has extensive knowledge of popular guitar material and method books and can provide the appropriate material. He has experience teaching all ages, including young children, teenagers and young and experienced adults.
Mark is an accomplished violinist and educator who specializes in helping people of all ages fulfill their dream of playing the violin.
Mark’s philosophy is that no two students are alike and he tailors his lessons to suit each individuals learning styles, helping the musician to achieve their level of playing for enjoyment, socialising through music and accomplishing goals.
Luke has been playing guitar for 12 years and for 5 years he has taught, his gained a wealth of experience in playing live and in the studio through several different bands. With a passion for all kinds of music from jazz to country Luke has developed his craft through countless hours of practice. Ever since receiving the music scholarship for Kolbe Catholic College Luke focused his time on guitar receiving private lessons from a WAAPA teacher with an emphasis on the blues.
Brittany trained as a singer and dancer from the age of eight which gave her over twelve years of training and fifteen years of performing and competing. She’s wrote multiple songs for herself and other artists and works regularly in the film industry. Some of her proudest achievements so far include supporting Shannon Noll and Ross Wilson. Her track is appearing in an Australian TV show in 2020 and has appeared in multiple Australian films. She won first place in the 2017 Breakthrough Music Competition and the Highest Mark Overall for any Song and Dance solo in the 2008 Kwinana Dance Festival. Brittany is extremely passionate about teaching others how to use their voice and the creative arts to express themselves and pursue a career in the performance industry.
